What is Therapy?

What does therapy mean to you?

Psychotherapy is a way of working non-judgmentally and confidentially, within a therapeutic relationship to understand how your past may show up in the present, causing you emotional distress, worry or pain.

Integrative psychotherapy involves talking therapy. It can include a variety of different and creative ways of working with both the mind and body to explore feelings, concerns, thoughts, and experiences. I will work in a flexible and collaborative way with you to understand how you see your world and to find a way forward that will help you restore a sense of connection and safety to improve mental health.

Anyone can benefit from being in therapy. It can help you to foster curiosity, courage, compassion and develop the capacity to face life’s challenges and transform your life. Good supportive therapy can help you develop the skills to cope better; a bit like putting together your own personal toolkit, helping you to be more of who you already are and maintain a sense of safety and calm.

A good therapist will be there with you on your journey, supporting the direction you would like to take and there to help you navigate how to get there.

  • Curiosity to expand your awareness of the mind and body.
  • Courage to face your adversity with compassion, with self-love.
  • Capacity is about learning how to maintain equilibrium.
